Dust in the Wind .......Scorpions ......

I close my eyes
Only for a moment and the moment's gone
All my dreams
Pass before my eyes, a curiosity
Dust in the wind
All we are is dust in the wind
Same old song
Just a drop of water in an endless sea
All we do
Crumbles to the ground, though we refuse to see
Dust in the wind
All we are is dust in the wind
Now, Don't hang on
Nothing lasts forever but the earth and sky
It slips away
And all your money won't another minute buy
Dust in the wind
All we are is dust in the wind
Dust in the wind
All we are is dust in the wind
Dust in the wind
All we are is dust in the wind
Dust in the wind
All we are is dust in the wind

Under the same sun .......by Scorpions.....

I saw the morning
It was shattered by a gun
Heard a scream, saw him fall, no one cried
I saw a mother
She was praying for her son
Bring him back, let him live, don't let him die

Do you ever ask yourself
Is there a Heaven in the sky
Why can't we get it right

'cause we all live under the same sun
We all walk under the same moon
Then why, why can't we live as one

I saw the evening
Fading shadows one by one
We watch the lamb, lay down to the sacrifice
I saw the children
The children of the sun
How they wept, how they bled, how they died

Do you ever ask yourself
Is there a Heaven in the sky
Why can't we stop the fight

'cause we all live under the same sun
We all walk under the same moon
Then why, why can't we live as one

Sometimes I think I'm going mad
We're loosing all we had and no one seems to care
But in my heart it doesn't change
We've got to rearrange and bring our world some love

And does it really matter
If there's a heaven up above
We sure could use some love

'cause we all live under the same sun
We all walk under the same moon
Then why, why can't we live as one
'cause we all live under the same sky
We all look up at the same stars
Then why, tell me why can't we live as one

What if ????????....by Coldplay

What if there was no light?
Nothing wrong, nothing right.
What if there was no time?
And no reason or rhyme.

What if you should decide
That you don't want me there by your side.
That you don't want me there in your life.

What if I got it wrong, and no poem or song
Could put right what I got wrong
Or make you feel I belong

'nd What if you should decide
That you don't want me there by your side
That you don't want me there in your life.

Oooh, let's try
Let's take a breath jump over the side
Oooh, let's try
How can you know it if you don't even try
Oooh, let's try

Every step that you take
Could be your biggest mistake
It could bend or it could break
But that's the risk that you take

What if you should decide
That you don't want me there in your life.
That you don't want me there by your side.

Oooh, let's try
Let's take a breath jump over the side
Oooh, let's try
How can you know it when you don't even try
Oooh, let's try

Ohhhhh

Oooh, let's try
Let's take a breath jump over the side
Oooh, let's try
You know that darkness always turns into light
Oooh, let's try

Terrific Thursday – my day of delight

So this day I am not going to keep a fast reason: traveling. Another great example of how flexible Islam is. Islam means a way of life and thankfully Allah has given us Muslims so much flexibility that nobody should even raise an inkling of whine. Never mind people I always tend to digress towards my religious and emotional doctrines. That’s exactly the two important things around which my personality has evolved

Back to the realism. So morning 10:10 is my flight to LAX (Los Angeles International) airport from my very beloved ORD (O’Hare Chicago). I woke up at 6:30 in the morning pretty early considering the fact that I always tend to be late for my trips. I had to wake up S to drop me off at ORD. I have bugged him zillion times but that’s what friends are for. He hesitantly woke up and drove me to ORD.

Terminal 2, United Airways insanely crowded as always. I seriously wonder at what I witness at ORD, it one airport which is always freaking busy. At the check-ins, security scans, boarding pass kiosks, McDonalds, various restaurants, escalators, walk-ways everywhere there are hoards of people. It is like a huge gala fair at ORD every time I go there. This is why I love that airport so much. Though, it is so crowded you will still get your things done pretty quickly, thanks to the faultless management..

It was going to be a long flight around 3.5 hours and I didn’t want to sit in a small turbo prop or a jet. Those flights on short distance routes are so boring. No music, no in-flight entertainment, no meals nothing. Luckily for me it was a Boeing 747. No doubt, it was huge and all sorts of entertainment available.

I boarded the plane and sat down at seat #31F properly without any hassles. I did piss of a guy while I was stowing my luggage on the overhead bins. He had a poster which was lying there in the bin and I mistakenly scratched his poster with my suitcase wheels. I apologized but I could see that he was pissed off.

I didn’t care and just went to sleep while the passengers were still boarding. I was woken up by the air hostess who asked my boarding pass. I showed it to her and she exclaimed,”Sir ! You are supposed to be sitting at 3 7F and not 31F. She was freaked out because two people nearly fought because they both laid claim on the same seat, the priced seat on which I was sleeping. To add fuel, one of them was an insanely loud voiced African-American lady and the other person was an old Caucasian gentleman.

I apologized to both the parties and shifted to a seat where I was supposed to be seating at the first place. I sat down there wishing to find Coldplay on the radio. I franticly scanned every channel and finally one channel was playing X and Y (the latest sensational album from Coldplay). I was the happiest person on this god damn earth. I was so lost in the music that I forgot to turn off my cell phone when the flight was about to take off.

I rummaged my seat pockets and jeans pockets to search for my cell phone but my search was in vain. I told the person sitting next to me to give me a missed call and my phone started buzzing. It was ringing but I couldn’t locate the phone. Even the fellow passengers got freaked out. I finally found the phone in the seat pocket of the seat I mistakenly sat.

I turned the phone off and began to listen to Coldplay. Another, great news came. The air hostess announced that they were going to play Batman Begins during the flight. I was just euphoric. First Coldplay now Batman Begins what more could I ask for.

The air hostess came to serve the meal. Meal bullshit it was just a coke and packets of roasted peanuts. How does this qualify as a meal? Anyways I was still watching the movie and listening to Coldplay. She gave me a glass full of ice in which I was supposed to pour the coke and drink it. I kept it still engrossed in my movie. She gave me one more glass, I kept that glass too. She looked at me and said:”Sir! This glass is for the gentleman sitting next to you.”

I looked down at the tray and saw two glassed of ice. Then I realized it was for the person sitting next to me and gave it to him. I felt that there was something wrong with me. I was just lost in the aura of Coldplay. I guess I am obsessed with them now.

This was one of the best flight trips I have had in a long time. My seat too was far away from the lavatory. Last time, during my trip to San Francisco I sat on the last seat close to the lavatory and believe me it was horrible. People kept flushing the toilet and linearly no exponentially I kept loosing my peace of mind. I did learn one thing that when you use restroom like the ones on flight, please flush the toilet and then open the door. Otherwise you are really going to bother the people who are sitting close to the lavatory.

So, the flight reached LAX and here too I had to walk like one mile to reach the other gate from where I was suppose to catch a connecting flight to Santa Barbara. This was a turbo prop flight smaller than a bus. I had to bend down to enter the flight and reach my seat. The flight was little turbulent in the beginning but later it was smooth. I was sitting at the window seat and the view down was awesome. I could see the beautiful shoreline and the shallow waters of the Pacific Ocean.

I reached the Santa Barbara Municipal Airport (SBA) and it was blended in the colorful Hawaiian theme concomitant to the local population and climate. I headed for rental car and got an upgrade from compact to an economy sized car: a Buick Lacrosse. I was quiet nervous driving a car all alone for the first time but I had to do it and I endured.

I drove smoothly through the streets and treaded cautiously on highway US 101. Instead of going north I took a wrong exit ramp and headed south. I was going toward Santa Barbara then I realized and took an exit ramp and started on US 101 North towards Solvang. The drive was picturesque with humongous mountains on one side and the blue horizon of the Pacific Ocean on the other side.

I was following Yahoo maps and that’s the last thing in the world you would ever want to do especially in a place which you are visiting for the first time. It gave me the shortest distance fine but the road was a real adventure. I will never ever forget this road called Refugio road. It looked decent two lane road in the beginning but later it turned into a complete nightmare. First time driving a car all alone and that too a brand new car.

So, I kept following the road taking me deeper into the jungle. I could see nothing but dead squirrels, skunks and snakes on the road, ran over by vehicles. Yes, for the first time I did see some different kind of wildlife in this country other than the squirrels that are wandering all over Michigan. I seriously (I still have feelings attached to this word) didn’t expect dead skunks and snakes.

I kept going higher and higher on the hill making sharp turns with mountains on one side and a deep abyss on the other side. It started to get little creepy and I got doubtful about the credibility of the company I was going to interview with. I mean they would definitely wont advice someone new to that area to take that route. I thought of making calls but unfortunately there was no network.

I became nervous I had no choice but to keep following the road. I started to wish for seeing some person who could guide me out of that place or at least tell me where I was heading. I kept going and saw a road sign that said no road after 2 miles which meant a dead end.

I kept my fingers crossed and still kept going finally at the top of the hill just before the road was going to end, I found this old lady jogging weird. Whatever she was a flicker of hope I was waiting for. I pulled my windows down and asked her where I was heading. She advised me that with my car I wouldn’t be able to cross the swamp and it was better for me to make a u turn and head back to the highway.

I had no choice but to listen to her. I requested her to help me make a U turn and she did. I headed back down the street. It was scarier than coming up as I could see the abyss and the horizon right in front of me. The twists and turns were insanely hard but I did manage to slowly cautiously come out of that forest. I wish I had a camera, so that I could have shared some snaps with you people. It was eerily beautiful.

I got back on US 101 and headed north towards Solvang. I reached my luxurious motel where all the expenses were covered by the company I was interviewing with. It was insanely expensive but I had nothing to worry as it was all covered.

I went into my room and turned on the TV. Guess what I found. I switched to WB and Millville was being shown. I was so happy that I can’t put that in words. At the end of Smallville when Clark comes to meet Lana, guess what a new soundtrack by Coldplay. It was like a cherry on top of cake. I was just extremely cheerful.

I prayed and then prepared for my interview next morning. It was indeed the greatest most joyful day of my life which is going to go down the memory lane for a long time.

1st Ramadan 1426

Okay, so today it all begin. The first day of shehar-ul-Allah ( the month of Allah) was like so apt for me . This is how it begin:

I vowed that this time atleast I would wake up and do sehri. So , instead of keeping alaram I told moto to like wake me up. She gave me missed calls trying to wake me up but in vain. I slept and woke up at 8 which definately isnt a good sign for the first day of Ramadan.

Ok couple of job searches done and applications sent, I prayed fajar and read the holy Quran. Big day, I had my driving road test and this was the third time I was going to give it coze i failed it on the previous two attempts. I dont know why this driving license shit has jinxed me so bad , this was one test I was like really scared to give. The past two times I failed was because I forgot to stop at the Stop sign, weird.

Something so obvious could be forgotten, not because i was not aware, but for the simple reason that I was too nervous. This time I had to clear the test no matter what. Driving license is like inevitable if you want to do anything in US, duhhh.

So, I was borrowing Vik's car for the test and he hesitantly gave it coze he owed me a favour. Before the test another big drama. The great mr. Vik left the keys inside the car and locked the door. Now he had to call the towing company and get it opened. So they came at 2:45 opened the door in 5 minutes and we were there at the parking lot at 3.

At the test, the same lady who took my test the first time was there and this made me even more nervous. She asked me to do the basic skills test and thank God i finished it easily. Then she took me on the road and asked me to make a right turn on the next traffic light. I dont know what I was thinking and wasnt looking like i was going to make a turn. She screamed at me like : "Please make a right turn !!!!!!!." I got alarmed and made a sharp turn she was like furious. She looked at me and said:" Jesus Christ," I was like broken and felt that God this test too is gone, FAILED.

I kept hoping that please dont tell me to make a turn towards Davenport (which means end of the test or failed in simple words). So I hung on and kept doing whatever she told me. Luckily we got stuck in the traffic and this consumed too much time and hence she didnt drill me much.

She took me to the same spot, where i jumped the stop sign last time. This time i stopped came to a complete halt looked on all the four sides and when it was my turn to go made the smooth turn. I had feeling that I was going to make it. She took me to the highway and it wasnt a great deal.

Finally, she told me congratulations u passed and I was like oh thank God !!!. I called up my darling mommmy and informed her. I was like so happy. I know it looks weird coze getting a license is not a big deal but for me it was.

So thats it , I passed my test and with the certificate, I will get my license tomorrow from the Secretery of State, Inshallah. There was still lot of time to break the fast , so I decided to do some cleaning. After that I was really exhausted and just lied down till maghrib. At maghrib did iftaari had some water, banana, angoor (grapes), rice crispies and then I ordered pizzas for pizza hut and ate with all the friends.

This day was great. First day of ramadan has bought me luck thats what my mom told me and I love her for that. I love her for giving me the confidence and boosting my moral whenever I am down. She keeps telling me :" Hatim jub bhi sahi waqt aayega tabhi sahi kaam hoga , kabhi juldi mat karna ,"( Hatim when the right time will come, right things will happen, never ruch) and mom I love you for that. I am sure that these coming days of Ramadan will bring me luck.

Inshallah I will keep posting as time permits.

Dating trends in America in the 21st Century

Dating trends all over America are changing rapidly. Various internet dating sites were referred to and this paper discusses the findings and conclusions drawn from the research. All of the sources referred to suit well for all age groups, with a wide variety of options to land up an ideal date for both men and women.

Newspapers are a less desirable option than internet. Internet provides the seeker with an efficient option of searching for the right date. It is also the fastest mean to communicate with the date compared to newspaper which is way slower and also less revealing. With newspapers you are likely to reach very limited number of audience, limited to your city or state or town.

Internet is also a cheaper option among the two. Various sites allow users to make a profile for free whereas they have to pay for giving their ads in classified newspapers. With instant messaging users can instantly get in contact with your date. People are also very open to posting their pictures on a dating site in contrast to newspapers where posting pictures is a rarity. This is an important aspect that is going to tilt the decision in favor of internet as many people seeking a date gave huge importance to how he/she looked.

It can be seen that women have become more active with online dating and men have shifted to a more passive approach. After going through various profiles it was noticed that women were less hesitant to give away their phone numbers, screen names, email addresses, and various contact details as compared to the male side.

Many men believe that they have become more mature with dating than some women are. Men in the new dating game feel more like hunted, and at the mercy of a new genre of a super-woman they don’t know how to handle. Men are finding it difficult to understand what qualities to they actually crave for in a woman and the whole dating scene is quite confusing to them and to some degree threatening.

Women on the other hand have asked out a man. Until recently, a woman who asked a man to go out with her might have been given a bad reputation for being forward or un-ladylike. Now, women call men they are attracted to and ask them out almost as regularly as men call women. This aspect was clearly noticed in their profiles.

I chose to concentrate my search on woman seeking man and man seeking woman category. Everybody has something specific that they are looking for in the opposite sex. For females, the top characteristic desired is to have a good sense of humor. Second is a sense of caring, and a tie for third is honesty and an interesting personality. Males are looking for women who are funny, brainy, open-minded, good looking, and honest (naming only a few qualifications).

It was also observed that some people believed that God fits perfectly in a relationship. Hence, they felt that it was wrong for them to sleepover with their boyfriend/girlfriend. Also, smoking and drinking was an option that was undesirable for someone religious seeking a date. These people also preferred to date someone who was from the same ethnic origin. So, it can be assumed that they were probably looking for a life-long commitment.

It was also seen that both the genders were very vocal about there specific interests in music, sports, books, movies etc. This shows that lot of people nowadays are searching for a date in terms of common interest which would consequently give them a lot to discuss and get to know each other better.

Thus the internet has revolutionized the way people search for dates. People have become more revealing and this has helped them in finding the right date. Internet dating has given an excellent option for traditionally reserved people who were not ready to express themselves in public. With internet they are able to find someone who suits their culture and way of life.

The role of women has changed over the past 20-30 years and this has reflected in the dating scene too. Instead of man paying for the date it’s the woman who is also chipping in. Thus this was a very prominent change.

Dating has come a long way over the past several years. Many changes have reshaped our views and interpretation of going out with someone.

Hotel Rwanda....................

Million Voices by Wycleaf Jean
African Chorus throughout song:
-----------------------------------
Ni ryari izuba, Rizagaruka, Hejuru yacu,
Nduzaricyeza ricyeza.

[When will the sun rise again?
[Who will reveal it "to" us again?]
-----------------------------------

Rwanda, Rwanda,
Yeah Rwanda, Rwanda.

They said: "Many are called and few are
chosen,"

But I wish some wasn’t chosen
for the blood spilling of Rwanda.

They said: "Meshach Eshach and Abednego,
Thrown in the fire but you never get burned,"
but I wish that I didn't get burned in Rwanda.

They said: "The man is judged according to his works,"
so tell me Africa, what’s your worth?

There’s no money, no diamonds, no fortunes
on this planet that can replace Rwanda…

Rwanda Rwanda

Yeah, Rwanda Rwanda

These are the cry of the children

Rwanda Rwanda

Anybody hear my cry?

If America, is the United States of America,
Then why can’t Africa, be the United States of Africa?

And if England, is the United Kingdom,
Then why can’t Africa unite all the kingdoms
and become United Kingdom of Africa?

Rwanda Rwanda, Rwanda Rwanda
Yeah, yeah.

These are the cries of the children, yeah.

Can anybody out there hear our cries?

Yeah, heavens cry ... Jesus cry.

Lord, did you hear us calling you?
Yeah, Rwanda Rwanda,

Lord, did you hear us calling?
Can you do something in Rwanda?

Rwanda Rwanda, Rwanda Rwanda

I’m talkin' 'bout Jesus; talkin' 'bout
Rwanda Rwanda Rwanda

Talkin' 'bout … talk'n 'bout ...
Talkin' 'bout … talk'n 'bout ...

I wanna play my guitar for Rwanda....

Islam -- A Dawoodi Bohra Perspective

We believe that Islam revolves around 3 things beside Allah subhanahu...definately there is no comparison to him.....
so the three things are
- The holy Quran
- Prophet Muhammad
- The ahl-e-bait

Allah send the Quran, Prophet Mohammed explained the Quran and he made ahl-e-bait the perfect example in the sense that u want to know what the Quran is trying to say ...take there life as an example and live like them.so here too there is no concept of shirk ...because Ameer ul Mumineen AS was the person who destroyed the idols in Mecca and we are staunch follower of Moulana Ali AS so consequently there is no question of us committing shirk or worshipping idols.

Bowing down.....we have never did sajdah to our Moula tus .whenever we do sajdah its either during namaz or say after a prayer yeah we do sajdah after his deedar (witnessing him) but its not for him its to thanks Allah subhanahu that he gave us an opportunity to do his deedar. So we are just thankful to Allah here and not to our Moula tus. So here too there is no shirk.

Why we eat salt before our meal. Isn’t that something like why we wash our hands before eating food, isn’t that something like why do u take bath everyday, or why do u put hair oil on your head ,its a matter of personal hygiene and I guess its matter of choice...so I guess nobody want resort to Talibanism and put a ban on our practice of tasting salt because yeah it is not mention in the Quran ......if someone wants to follow everything that is mention in the Quran with a totalitarian point of you then I guess he/she have to follow the shariyah. And in this time it is not possible.

ok so u say people complain we have modified the practices mention in the Quran ahem ......what do u think of the 4 different Sunni Islamic schools ;Hanafi, Maliki, Shafi'i, Hanbali. Don’t they have different practices do you go and blame all of them that why one of them follows this and why not this.

A quote from this websitehttp://members.tripod.com/~SuzyAshraf/index.html_essays.

In the early Islamic times the governors would appoint qadis to judge the subjects of their newly acquired territories. They tried to base their decisions on the Qur'an and act according to what they knew to be the Muslim practice (sunna), but when none of these sources were available, they had to judge themselves, whatever seemed right to them personally. This usually included considerations of what was customary in the area. Judgments based on own opinion (ra'y) became common practice of the early jurists, and a system of logic to support the decisions was being formed.

how do they justify this? Will you go and question the authorities of the person who made there own rules without even referring to the holy Quran? Fortunately our Moula tus has never committed such a sacrilege.

People raise such questions to us because they know that we are a docile sect of Islam, we are not going to come to you asking why do u follow this or that. We invest our time in learning what the right thing is and not finding faults with other sects. Actions speaks louder than words.

We don’t believe in converting people to our religion we just believe that those who are already dawoodi bohras don’t get astray from the right path and if our Moula tus is showing us the right path then what’s there problem. he is telling us to fast, perform hajj, read namaz, read Quran, give alms to poor, don’t take interest, don’t eat haram food and countless things that are all mentioned in the Quran. where is the question of shirk here?

don'tu give respect to the imam who leads the prayers or deliver sermons? don’t u think that the imam who is leading the prayers in is different from a normal person, in terms of knowledge, don’t u go and seek guidance from him incase u have a doubt, or the best example would be your molvi or teacher, do u glorify him as god. nooooooo

Similarly our Moula tus has the knowledge: Islamic knowledge. He is like our teacher who is guiding us to the right path strictly following the holy Quran. Doesn’t he deserve respect for what knowledge he has, so we give our Moula tus that respect and does this make him Allah. is that committing shirk.....? n00000000000000

we don’t commit terrorist acts, we don’t harass our woman folks, we boast 100 pc literacy rates, we all try to resort to business and trade as it was advised by Rasullallah SA. So where are we committing shirk?

@hypocrites
hypocrisy has its price , I guess it will take more than one life to realize….couple of weeks ago a hypocrite wanted to know how to covert to Dawoodi bohras ...and yeah most of our fellow mumineen did give her a proper and decent responses ...but now that person is raising fingers at our practices...did any bohri ever come to you and said that we dont like your practices....ridiculous.....instead we enlightened her on our practices and never criticized her….we take proud in our culture and traditions….and I think that only those people who have fault in them find fault with others

but believe me friends forgiveness is an act of god and looking at trauma and suffering of our masoomeen ahl-e-bait AS we have learned that aspect of the Quran and our beloved Aqa Moula tus has strengthened those traits in us by constantly reminding us of there suffering at the hands of infidels. I am sure such a person deserves respect for his painless efforts and we are just giving him that respect and not treating him like Allah AstakfiruAllah. there is no question of shirk here.

so let us forget everything and forgive each other. Let us together glorify this Islam religion by tolerating other sects and religion and not force our opinions on others. Looser George Lucas

This short article will clearly illustrate that George Lucas creator of Star Wars spoofed the concepts from Asimov's Foundation series. Wake up Star War geeks to this reality !!!!!!!!!!

George Lucas used elements of the Foundation series to construct the universe in which Star Wars is set, including propulsion by hyperdrive, lightsabers (evolved from force field penknives), and the Galactic Empire (although Lucas' Empire was by definition evil, while Seldon openly says that in principle the First Empire is not evil). Additionally, Coruscant, the imperial capital planet covered completely with buildings, is a direct borrowing of Asimov's Trantor. (Visually they are not exactly similar: Trantor is covered in domed cities, while Coruscant's buildings are open to the air.)

Thank goodness for WiKi.

Invincible Incredible Indians

Whoa !!!!!!
What a day for Indian sports fans both in the more popular Cricket and less popular Tennis. Two of my most favorite stars have lived up to expectations and delivered handsomly.
Mohammed Kaif

I have always been a big fan of Kaif as I believe that he is grooming up to be India's future captain. From his debut against England in its home turf Kanpur in 2002 till his magnificent 87* against England in the Natwest Trophy final he has always shown that temperament for succeeding at the International level and consequently the calibre to lead team India in the future. Unfortunately, he never got any chance to prove his game while playing at number 6 for most of his ODI career. Fortunately, with absence of Sachin due to knee-bone injury Kaif got a chance and boy he did capitalize on that. In the three innings he has played at number 3 his average was 44 and with this 102 not out its going to soar. This inning is a stamping proof that Kaif is well suited for that crucial number 3 spot. His fielding, catching and running between the wickets is sharp and at the same time exemplary. With youthful exuberance of Yuvraj Singh, M.S. Dhoni, J.P.Yadav, Pathan and the experience of Dravid, Ganguly and Sachin this Indian unit is indeed a force of reckoning. This indeed is the dawning of a new era of Indian cricket. Kudos to the Indian team for pulling of a spectacular win - the largest chase at the Harare Sports Club cricket ground. Best of luck for the Finals.

Sania Mirza

A muslim girl from a humble background becoming tennis sensation. Its not just about the persona but performance too. Imagine the only Indian woman tennis player to reach 4th round of US Open and a chance to beat World's number 1 Maria Sharapova. No doubt this is going to be the most glamourous match of the tournament.Already her popularity is compared to Sachin and she is just 18 years old. She has occupied prime-time on US channels and indeed a media darling. Her sponsorship endorsements have crossed 1 million pounds and still counting. She is not a great athlete, her first serve percentage is below par, her footwork is horrrible but what matters is how hard u hit the ball and she does hit dem hard. With her attitude and charisma she is going to be a rising star and be a role model for numerous burgeoning women athletes in India. Bestest of luck and I am waiting to see her knock out Sharapova :P.

Superman Song-3

Everything by Lifehouse dedicated to Superman

Find Me Here
Speak To Me
I want to feel you
I need to hear you
You are the light
That's leading me
To the place where I find peace again.

You are the strength, that keeps me walking.
You are the hope, that keeps me trusting.
You are the light to my soul.
You are my purpose...you're everything.

How can I stand here with you and not be moved by you?
Would you tell me how could it be any better than this?

You calm the storms, and you give me rest.
You hold me in your hands, you won't let me fall.
You steal my heart, and you take my breath away.
Would you take me in? Take me deeper now?

How can I stand here with you and not be moved by you?
Would you tell me how could it be any better than this?
And how can I stand here with you and not be moved by you?
Would you tell me how could it be any better than this?

Cause you're all I want, You're all I need
You're everything,everything
You're all I want your all I need
You're everything, everything.
You're all I want you're all I need.
You're everything, everything
You're all I want you're all I need, you're everything, everything.

And How can I stand here with you and not be moved by you?
Would you tell me how could it be any better than this?
How can I stand here with you and not be moved by you?
Would you tell me how could it be any better than this?

How can I stand here with you and not be moved by you?
Would you tell me how could it be any better than this?

Would you tell me how could it be any better than this?

Superman Song-2

Its not easy to be me by Five For Fighting

I can’t stand to fly
I’m not that naive
I’m just out to find
The better part of me

I’m more than a bird...i’m more than a plane
More than some pretty face beside a train
It’s not easy to be me

Wish that I could cry
Fall upon my knees
Find a way to lie
About a home I’ll never see

It may sound absurd...but don’t be naive
Even heroes have the right to bleed
I may be disturbed...but won’t you concede
Even heroes have the right to dream
It’s not easy to be me

Up, up and away...away from me
It’s all right...you can all sleep sound tonight
I’m not crazy...or anything...

I can’t stand to fly
I’m not that naive
Men weren’t meant to ride
With clouds between their knees

I’m only a man in a silly red sheet
Digging for kryptonite on this one way street
Only a man in a funny red sheet
Looking for special things inside of me
Inside of me
Inside me
Yeah, inside me
Inside of me

I’m only a man
In a funny red sheet
I’m only a man
Looking for a dream

I’m only a man
In a funny red sheet
And it’s not easy, hmmm, hmmm, hmmm...

Its not easy to be me

Superman Song

Superman Song by Crash Test Dummies

Tarzan wasn't a ladies' man
He'd just come along and scoop 'em up under his arm Like that,
quick as a cat in the jungle
But Clark Kent, now there was a real gent
He would not be caught sittin' around in no Junglescape,
dumb as an ape doing nothing
Superman never made any money
saving the world from Solomon Grundy
And sometimes I despair the world will never see
Another man like him

Hey Bob, Supe had a straight job
Even though he could have smashed through any bank In the United States.
He had the strength, but he would not
Folks said his family were all dead
Their planet crumbled but Superman,
he forced himself To carry on,
forget Krypton, and keep going
Superman never made any money
saving the world from Solomon Grundy
And sometimes I despair the world will never see
Another man like him

Tarzan was king of the jungle and Lord over all the apes
But he could hardly string together four words:
"I Tarzan, You Jane."
Sometimes, when Supe was stopping crimes
I'll bet that he was tempted to just quit and turn his back
On man, join Tarzan in the forest
But he stayed in the city,
and kept on changing clothes In dirty old phonebooths
till his work was through
And nothing to do but go on home

Superman never made any money
saving the world from Solomon Grundy
And sometimes I despair the world will never see
Another man like him

Superman never made any money
saving the world from Solomon Grundy
And sometimes I despair the world will never see
Another man like him

Rift Rumors

Rift Rumors

Cricket was aptly named as the Gentlemen's game as it was famous with the
aristocrats in England. Recent developments have indeed shaken the very
foundations of this notion and its no other than the media who is responsible
for this bummer.

For instance take the three latest rift:

Ponting and Warne

Two of the greatest player in there own domain. Warne being one of the best spinner in the world and Ponting having the honor of captaining the most successful cricket team in the history of cricket. Both the players have answered there critics with solid performance and carrying Australia safely to a draw.

There is nothing going on here but still the British media the most notorious in the World is just trying to help there home team by distracting the visitors. But, Australia is used to such haphazard allegations and they have performed
even better under pressure. English media can try but in vain. Australia will
still emerge victorious. Peace.

Dravid and Ganguly

Confusions, conundrums and complexities have caused the entire Indian cricket team to fall to trenches of Cricket, may it be One day internationals or Test cricket. And as always the blame has to come on the captain. Here the media making the situation worse by flaring up a rift between Ganguly and Dravid.

Two entirely different scenarios: Ganguly suffering from a lull but a capable captain and Dravid at peak of his form but doomed to failure as a captain. So instead of trying to strike a balance and motivate the players the media is making the situation worse by creating an unnecessary fracas between the two players.

Ganguly said :"I want to make it very clear that there is no rift, no trouble, no problem between us [himself and Dravid]." It’s a strong statement and I have my full confidence in Ganguly to perform well for the betterment of his career and the Indian team as well. No better chance than destroying Zimbabwe worst than an Indian A tram to tatters. It’s a blessing in disguise and
no one can benefit from it more than Dada Saurav.

Inzamam and Shoaib

Over and over again Shoaib Akhtar has impressed everyone with his performance and over and over again he has disappointed everyone with his behaviour in and out of field. His callow attitude has indeed resulted in him being left out of the Pakistan’s successful tour of India and the West Indies.

Inzi’s cool as cucumber attitude has helped him generously. He leads a successful outfit and now as a deep thinker of the game he has proposed to reconcile with firebrand Shoaib. He knows that Shoaib’s talent is valuable and could pay vital dividends in there forthcoming tour with England.

Its time that Shoaib realize that playing a gentlemen game he has to act like a gentlemen and cool down.

Halaal and Zabiha

First of all there is a question of sticking to the faith.

Haram means disapproved in quran. It could be anything ranging from taking interest to drinking khamar to eating tobbaco or even eating pork. Haram and halal is clearly differentiated in shariah (islamic way of life). Now even if you consume any food that has not undergone zabiha its still haram even though it is chicken or meat or beef.

If it says that chicken is halal it means that it has undergone the zabiha practice. Now I will list all those animals that are halaal (edible) but only after they have undergone zabiha:

- Fishes whose scales are not visible
- Wild animals who have claws or sharp teeths (canines) coze they tear there prey apart with claws
- only those birds who have sacks which are scientifically known as wattles under there beaks are halal those who dont are not.
- offcourse pig is haraam coze for a any animal to be halaal it has to be cut from the neck and pig has no neck.

Now three important things that has to be considered for food to be halaal:
1. How is tha animal raised ?
2. Process of slaughtering ?
3. Who is doing the slaughtering ?

1. Raising of animals

An animal to be halaal it has to be raised on organic food like vegetations and grains. Some animals that are raised in cramped up conditions are raised on bones and animal remains are haraam. Any animal that consumed such things have consumed blood and its haraam in islam to consume anything that contains blood. The animal has to be a herbivore.

For an animal to be Halal it should not be given any hormones.
In the meat industry, beef is given female sex hormones estrogene. This is meant to increase the weight of the animal in a short period of time.
The effect of consuming an animal with injected female hormones is a reduction in the masculine appearance of boys and men and early puberty in females.

2. Process of Slaughtering

On large farms, it is a standard practice to electrocute the animals, and then drain the blood. This method affects the central nervous system of the animal, and interferes with the drainage of blood. It is clearly stated in the Qur'an that Muslims should not consume blood, so we should make sure that any organic meat we buy has been slaughtered on a small scale by hand.

On the contrary, if an animal is slaughtered in accordance with Islamic guidelines, the central nervous system works properly, and all of the animal's blood comes out.

Remaining blood in the animal is a source of fermentation and destruction of meat quality. This means bacteria can grow easily on the meat.

3. who is slaughtering ?

there are lot of farms that employ non-muslims for slaughtering who arent bothered to say allah hu akhbar or recite vajjahto vajiha before slaughtering.

Conclusions:

there is no way that you can make alterations to a religion and to something as important as sharia. So ppl either try to switch to organic food or go to a trusted zabiha market and I am sure with such rampant spread of islam its not a problem finding zabiha meat. For instance i saw a halaal chineese food restaurent in Chinatown located in downtown Manhattan.

Listen to Your Heart

I know there’s something in the wake of your smile.
I get a notion from the look in your eyes, yea.
You’ve built a love but that love falls apart.
Your little piece of heaven turns too dark.

Listen to your heart
When he’s calling for you.
Listen to your heart
There’s nothing else you can do.
I don’t know where you’re going
And I don’t know why,
But listen to your heart
Before you tell him goodbye.

Sometimes you wonder if this fight is worthwhile.
The precious moments are all lost in the tide, yea.
They’re swept away and nothing is what is seems,
The feeling of belonging to your dreams.

And there are voices
That want to be heard.
So much to mention
But you can’t find the words.
The scent of magic,
The beauty that’s been
When love was wilder than the wind.

Listen to your heart
When he’s calling for you.
Listen to your heart
There’s nothing else you can do.
I don’t know where you’re going
And I don’t know why,
But listen to your heart
Before you tell him goodbye.

Ups and Downs

This is something I have been having for quite a few months now. One day i am upbeat and the next day I am down. Yes I indeed accept the fact that its not always a smooth sailing but still I feel that i havent yet learned to cope up with the downs. But, I am still trying.

Why is it that when you are down you need someone to boost your morale up, Why ????? I am not sure if this is the case with me or everyone else. For the past 5 months, I have known someone who has always helped me to cope up with my misery. Talking to whom would definately relieve that pain and help clear that mental bloc which was bothering me. Now, since she is gone - yes indeed I am responsible for all the mess once again, I have started to miss her. Why is it that you realize someone's importance only after you have lost that someone ? Too many unanswered questions !!!!

Okay so now the main thing for me to be down. I failed the driving test miserably that too in the parking stage itself. Luckily since I failed in the parking stage, I wont be charged the rent of the car next time I appear for the test. p.s This failed test is not the only reason infact it was like a spark plugg that ignited the combustion of emotions in me.

Yeah so the thing is I still dont know where I am going to land up or what God has instore for me but yeah I am trying my best to overcome this grief and accept my failure. True that failures are milestones to success but then failures dont come cheap, there is cost attached to every failures lols. So it all wraps up at the pain of losing that green. Phew !!! May be I am too confused or may be I am not ready to accept the reality of life. Do I have to feel bad for this ????

Life is a Rollercoaster, just got to ride it.......... Am i ready to accept this reality yet ?????

Magnificent Minnows Trounce the Mighty Aussies

Going through my previous post you would defianetly fine my hatred for the Bangladeshi Tigers. But, today they did something unbelievable, they beat Australia. After humiliating defeats at the hand of England, they have certainly risen from ashes and shown the true stature of tigers.

This time no match was fixed and no complaints that the opponents werent strong enough. Australia had its strongest lineup and they really struggled. Gilly getting out on the second ball wont help his cause at the Boston Red Sox.

The win was so significant that it earned its well deserved place in ten biggest one-day upsets . Mohammed Ashraful once again proved its calibre and surprisingly with praisworthy performance from other teammates won the match for Bangladesh.

This win would definately humble the mighty Aussies and could be a new uprising for Bangladesh. Bangladesh have won few matches in the past but they never actually capitalised on those wins and over and over again fell to the trenches of gully cricket.

Best of Luck ....

Calling Houston Calling

So finally after all the ifs and buts, I decided to embark on a sojourn to Houston. After doing all the required shopping I was all set to go to Houston. I left everything for the last minute, no wonder.

I decided to do some shopping. I think shopping is the toughest thing to do for a guy and even harder if he is under financial constraints lols :). Moreover u are bombarded with those "SALE" gimmicks, which makes your decision making even harder. You have to choose between quality and price which is worsen by the quantity factor. Out of 22 years of my worldly existence my mum has done my shopping for close to 20 years and I seriously can’t decide what suits me best. And yeah once again that feeling of homesickness swept me, but now being weathered against those tides I stood on solid grounds. This indeed is something that I shouldn’t be proud of.

Shopping done!! phew. Now a bigger problem of going back home from the mall, changing 2 buses than a 10 minute walk is too much in asking. Sometimes I seriously feel what my life would have been without Big R help with his car, lols. Stupid fools may think it otherwise, but I seriously mean it. Thank goodness for Big R :D.

While me and Z were still cribbing about our horrendous bus ride back home, I happened to see my friend K at Crossroads, who reluctantly agreed to give us a ride. A Desi in need is a Desi indeed :D. Went home checked out my clothes again and yeah it was a good bargain.

No Basketball tonight, sigh Suns lost :(, anyways Pistons are still alive. I can’t bear Miami and San Antonio in Finals. Allegations again surrounding R Wallace's accusations of the finals getting rigged, they call it Conspiracy Theory, i call it rigging :D. Sports are all about money, and money brings in greed. Sportsmanship and spirit are virtues of bygone days :D. So guys put your money on Pistons tonight :).

Debacle for Bangladeshi Tigers. With such teams Cricket is loosing its charm than gaining popularity. Total misery for Bangladesh as they are not able to score even 150 runs in a single inning, patethic. They need some serious thinking and fresh blood to at least corroborate there catchphrase of Tigers.

To be continued….stay tuned J

Show me the meaning of being "Desi"

This is a new song i came across by Penn Masala:

Show me the meaning of being Desi.
I'm a FOB. Just look at me.
I love maths or engineering.
And clothes that match don't interest me, bebi.

ABCD is who I be.
I'm from Queens or New Jersey.
I talk hoodie and fight at all the parties.

Show me the meaning of being Desi.
FOB or ABCD.
Indian but no we're not all the same.
And this is how we play the game.

My GPA is 4.0.
How to party I don't know.
Papa says, "Pre-med padho, bete." (Study pre-med, Son.)

I'm Jagdeep. You can call me Peeps.
I don't speak a single word of Punjabi.
I pretend to understand Hindi movies.

Show me the meaning of being Desi.
We drink limca or mango lassi.
Use cell phones to make all our local calls.
Our last names have ten syllables.

You know me, I'm your T.A.
You never understand a word I say.
I failed English, but that ok, bebi.

Show me the meaning of being Desi.
After we eat, our hands are messy.
Who we are is now all becoming clear.
Two-thirds of us are named Samir.

Show me the meaning of being Desi.
FOB or ABCD.
Indian but no we're not all the same.
And this is how we play the game.

The Divine Writ

The holy Quran consists of key phrases like references to creation of man "out of dust" and "out of a drop of sperm" . But the there is phrase that is "key phrase" of all key phrases:
3:7
It says that the Quran "contains messages that are clear in and by themselves (ayat-e-muhkamaat) as well as others that are allegorical (mutashabihaat)". allegorical or metamorphical or similies of symbolism.

Now an appreciation of what is meant by "allegory" doesnt help a person in fully understanding its true application. In order to understand this we must relate the quranic use of these terms to a concept-- namely the existence " of a realm which is beyond the reach of human perception" (al-ghayb).

This concept is basis of understanding the Quran and our religion. Infact any religion. All truly religious cognition arises from and is based on the fact that only a small segment of reality is open to man's perception and imagination and rest of it escapes his comprehension.

Now human mind is such that it can understand concepts only through previous experience. Now by virtue of religion how can Allah explain these concepts which are beyond our realm of imagination.

So Allah mentions in the Quran:
13:35 - "through a parabolic illustration, by means of something which we know from our experience, of something that is beyond the reach of our perception."

It follows, therefore, that if we were to take every Quranic passage, statement or expression in its outward, literal sense and disregard the possibility of its being an allegory, a metaphor or a parable, we would be offending against the very spirit of the divine writ.

And so, when the Quran speaks of Him as being "in the heavens" or "established on His throne (al-arsh)", we cannot possibly take these phrases in their literal senses, since then they would imply, however vaguely, that God is limited in space: and since such a limitation would contradict the concept of an Infinite Being.

We know immediately, without the least doubt that the "heavens" and the "throne" and God's being "established" on it are but mere linguistic meant to convey an idea which is outside all human experience, namely, the idea of God's almightiness and absolute sway over all that exists.

So taking the real sense of the metaphor would actually lead in commiting kufur.

So , we can persume that its only with people with divine powers who have powers to imagine beyond the realm of normal human being. Someone like Aqa Moula TUS who has that powers to think and interpret the meaning of those metaphors.

Hence we cannot and should not try to make a meaning out of a metaphor, and leave it our Moula TUS who can comprehend its correct meaning.
